Home insurance premium hikes hit new highs, according to Consumer Intelligence
According to the latest Consumer Intelligence Home Insurance Price Index, the average quoted price of home insurance increased 25.7% last year – the largest annual increase on record.
The average quoted premium for buildings and contents policies is currently £212, but Consumer Intelligence claims it could still be higher, with quoted prices rising by 9.9% in the last three months – since they started tracking in 2014 This is the highest quarterly growth since.
Overall, quoted premiums have now risen 31.1% since Consumer Intelligence first began collecting the data in February 2014.
