Choliya paneer recipe must try once, know

Cholia Paneer Recipe Ingredients

  • (1 bowl) paneer cubes
  • (1 bowl) chickpeas/green gram
  • (1 tbsp) desi ghee
  • (3-4) tomatoes
  • (1 tbsp) cashews
  • (3) Green chili
  • (2 tbsp) coriander leaves
  • (1/2 inch piece) ginger
  • (1 bowl) finely chopped onion
  • (2 tbsp) fresh fenugreek leaves
  • (1/2 tsp) turmeric
  • (1/2 tsp) asafoetida
  • (1 tsp) vegetable spice
  • (1/2 tsp) coriander powder
  • (2 tbsp) chopped green garlic
  • (1 tsp) red chili powder
  • (2-3) cloves
  • (1) bay leaf
  • (1/2 tsp) cumin
  • (1 tsp) dried mango powder
  • (1/4 tsp) garam masala
  • (1/2 inch piece) cinnamon
  • (1 tsp) oil
  • salt to taste

Punjabi Style Cholia Paneer Recipe

First wash the chickpeas or green peas with clean water 2 to 3 times. After this, drain the water and keep the peas separately. Cut paneer into big cubes and keep aside.

After this, grind tomatoes, green chilies and cashews in a mixie jar. Keep its paste separate in a vessel.

Now put the cooker on the gas, add oil to it. After this add cumin, bay leaf, clove and cinnamon and make it red. Now cook the chopped onion till it turns golden. After this, add garlic-ginger paste, tomato, green chilli and cashew paste and fry it.

Now add all the spices and fry for 1 to 2 minutes. After this mix ghee or butter. When ghee starts coming upwards from the spices, add chickpeas and salt as per taste and mix. Cook while stirring for about 2 minutes. Now add a glass of water or as much gravy as you want to it and cook it by adding a little more water.

When the gravy starts getting a bit thick, add paneer cubes. Mix fresh fenugreek leaves or musk fenugreek from above and cook. Turn off the gas and garnish with green coriander.
